Centre for Innovation and Research in
Advanced Manufacturing and Materials
The Centre for Innovation and Research in Advanced Manufacturing (CIRAMM) at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is dedicated to advancing innovation in digital manufacturing and advanced materials through strong academia-industry collaboration. Leveraging in-house expertise and state-of-the-art facilities, Dr. Rajani's team at CIRAMM focuses on the synthesis, processing, and characterization of materials, as well as robotics, artificial intelligence, and additive manufacturing of novel materials.
The centre supports innovation across strategic sectors, including aerospace, energy, manufacturing, and construction, at regional, national, and global levels. CIRAMM is a designated NATO DIANA (Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) centre and is home to the Alberta Aerospace Research Centre (AARC) and the Alternative Construction Technologies (ACT) Hub.
Our laboratories and services
Our multidisciplinary expertise, combined with cutting-edge tools and equipment across five state-of-the-art laboratories, enables innovators to advance their ideas. CIRAMM also supports partners in maximizing their resources by helping identify and leverage research funding opportunities.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
